A tragic shooting incident in southern Montenegro has left twelve people dead,including two children,as confirmed by prosecutor Andrijana Nastić. The attack occurred on Wednesday evening at a restaurant in the village of Bajice, near Cetinje, where the gunman opened fire indiscriminately before taking his own life as police closed in. Authorities have ruled out any links to organized crime, clarifying that the firearms used in the attack were illegal. Η αστυνομία απέκλεισε την υπόθεση μιας «σύγκρουσης μεταξύ συμμοριών του οργανωμένου εγκλήματος» και διευκρίνισε ότι τα όπλα που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν ήταν παράνομα.
Η κυβέρνηση κήρυξε από σήμερα τριήμερο εθνικό πένθος.

Ο ένοπλος, ο οποίος αναγνωρίστηκε από την αστυνομία ως Αλεξάνταρ Μαρτίνοβιτς, 45 ετών, αποπειράθηκε να αυτοκτονήσει κοντά στο σπίτι του στην πόλη Τσετίνιε αφού στριμώχτηκε από την αστυνομία.
«Όταν είδε ότι βρισκόταν σε απελπιστική κατάσταση, αποπειράθηκε να αυτοκτονήσει. Δεν υπέκυψε στα τραύματά του επί τόπου, αλλά κατά τη μεταφορά του στο νοσοκομείο», δήλωσε ο Σαράνοβιτς στον κρατικό ραδιοτηλεοπτικό φορέα του Μαυροβουνίου, RTCG.
Σύμφωνα με την αστυνομία, ο Μαρτίνοβιτς είχε ιστορικό παράνομης κατοχής όπλων.
