Is the new ‘iOS’ draining iPhone batteries?

by time news

Washington – It seems that the latest update to Apple’s operating system brings with it not only features, but also a flaw that drains the battery, at least in the first days of the update, the American company admitted.

Users have complained of reduced device autonomy right after installing iOS 15.4.

A few days ago, Apple launched its update for compatible iPhone devices.
“Battery life is really bad. After 24 hours, I lost 80 percent, but the screen was active for no more than 2 hours and I’m using Safari, YouTube, Instagram and Uber only,” one user said.

Another said, “My phone is stuck at 95% or 97% charging, then when I unplug it it will show 100% maybe after 5 minutes or after restart, then drains quickly.”

The decrease in autonomy may be related to the 120Hz screen activation of the iPhone 13 Pro. Apple has already activated the higher refresh rate on social networking apps, such as Twitter and Instagram.

So far, these applications have been limited to 60 Hz, which consumes less power. However, it should be noted that many iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 users, who do not have a 120Hz screen, were also affected by the problem.

Apple provided its interpretation of a phenomenon in response to one of the complaints.
