Legal consequences of Israel’s policies and practices in the Palestinian Territory: Morocco welcomes the ICJ’s opinion
Rabat – The Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the advisory opinion rendered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in Al Quds, indicated a responsible source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad.
Morocco, whose Sovereign, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, chairs the Al-Quds Committee, insists on the importance of this advisory opinion for supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent State and sovereign with Al Quds-East as its capital, living side by side with Israel within the framework of the two-state solution, said the same source.
He added that the Kingdom of Morocco rejects all practices and measures aimed at altering the historical legal status prevailing on the ground, and which undermine efforts aimed at restoring stability and appeasement in the region.
