On the 18th, a car collided with an old man who was trying to cross the road on Ilangovan Street, Thenampet, Chennai. The old man who was injured in this was fighting for his life in the blood flood. Seeing this, the locals rescued the old man and sent him to the Raipet Government Hospital.
There the old man died without effect of treatment. Upon learning of this, the police conducted an investigation. The investigation revealed that the deceased was Munusamy (age 70) of Thomas Road area.
Police also said that the car involved in the collision with the elderly man was that of actor Simbu and that the accident took place on the day of the incident when Simbu’s father, actor D. Rajender, was traveling with his family in his car. The driver of the car, Selvam, 29, of Thomas Road, has been arrested and police are investigating.
