“The counter-intelligence department of the SBU prevented a bloody terrorist attack planned by the Russian special services in the Kyiv region. As a result of the special operation, four members of the network of Russian agents were detained, who were preparing to detonate explosives at the entrance to the building where one of the units of the Defense Forces is located,” the SBU statement said.

The home-made bomb was in a backpack that had to be brought to the object by a minor agent dressed in the uniform of the Ukrainian army.

“The adversary tracked his movements online and planned to detonate the bomb as soon as the young man entered the premises.”

“On the other hand, the agent himself, who was supposed to be detonated, did not know that a fatal outcome was in store for him. He thought that the bomb would be detonated after he left the building,” the report said.

SBU counter-intelligence took a series of measures to prevent a terrorist attack, detained the minor boy and three other agents involved in the planning.

“With this terrorist attack, the Russian special services wanted to shake the socio-political situation in Ukraine and create the impression of a conflict within the Defense Forces, when some “soldiers” blow up others in protest,” SBU explained.

All four defendants operated separately from each other, but they had a common curator from Russia.

“As it turned out, one of the agents was a 16-year-old student from the Kirovohrad region. He received the coordinates of the hiding place from the occupiers, where he took explosives and military uniforms. The other member of the network is a 19-year-old youth who, according to preliminary data, delivered the bomb and military uniform from the “original hiding place” to the hiding place from which it was taken 16-year-old agent,” the report said.

The “initial hiding place” was created by two residents of Vinnytsia region – they made a bomb and hid it in a known place, following the video instructions of a representative of the Russian special services.

During the search, mobile phones with evidence of their cooperation with the aggressor were obtained from the detainees.

1.5 kilograms of explosives for making a homemade weapon were also confiscated from one of the detainees.

The special operation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia District Prosecutor’s Office.
