Russia turned out to be the largest supplier of weapons to Hezbollah, according to a study by the Major General Meir Amit Center for Information and Intelligence at the Intelligence Heritage Center (MALAM).
Telegram channel “Alexey Zheleznov” writes about this.
According to the study, about 70% of the weapons used by this organization were produced in Russia.
During IDF operations in southern Lebanon, about 85 thousand Hezbollah weapons were seized. The confiscated arsenals include 6,840 RPG launchers, missile launchers, anti-tank shells, more than 2,250 mines and artillery shells, 2,700 light weapons and 60 anti-aircraft missiles. According to the IDF, these reserves would be enough to arm a full-fledged division.
As analysts note, the main producers of weapons for Hezbollah were Russia and Iran. Deliveries were carried out on direct flights from Iran or through Syria. At the same time, the organization actively developed its own weapons production.
Earlier, Kursor reported that Hezbollah is preparing a large-scale invasion of Israel.
Senior Lebanese Shiite cleric Mohammed Ali al-Husseini has warned of a major Hezbollah attack on Israel.
He said the operation, called Badr the Great 2, inspired by the historical Battle of Badr, involves large-scale combat operations and the capture of IDF soldiers. The operation will presumably be led by Hajj Khalil Kharev.
At the same time, al-Husseini noted that Hezbollah is in crisis, having lost key leaders and control over supply routes. This caused disorganization and the flight of supporters from areas bordering Israel.
Against this background, the IDF may extend its stay in southern Lebanon, the IDF notes. The Lebanese army, according to the military, is not ready to replace Israeli forces. Al-Akhbar newspaper reports that Israel’s presence may be extended until April.
