Explosions were believed to be in warehouses in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and are still continuing. Syrian media and activists reported violent explosions amid reports of an Israeli raid on ammunition depots.
Sources reported that the explosions occurred in the 55th Battalion – Air Defense on the slopes of Mount Al-Manea in the Al-Kiswah area in the Damascus countryside.
It is noteworthy that the Tal al-Shahm military site in the western Damascus countryside was subjected to a raid launched by an Israeli aircraft on January 2, which led to violent explosions at the site.
The Israeli attacks on Syria following the fall of the Assad regime led to heavy damage to the Syrian air defense system and the destruction of more than 90% of the capabilities and sites of the Syrian army.
The Israeli army also penetrated several kilometers into Syrian territory and took control of the Jabal al-Sheikh military site after the Syrian army forces left it.
