Keren Peles and Harel Skaat return to collaborate

by time news

16 years after “And”, Keren Peles and Harel Skaat return to collaborate and release this morning the new single “Forgive me”.

If you go back a moment, the acquaintance between Keren and Harel was in 2004. Keren was a student at Rimon School and initially started as a writer and Harel worked on his debut album. The acquaintance between the two led to two hits on “And” and “All the Birds”. Later they collaborated and were hosted on the stages next to each other and vice versa and even shared the judging table of the next star.

Several months ago, they met for a night of heart-to-heart conversations. “We knew each other after 17 years as if we had never known each other, a new and mature love and from there we went back together to a song that was written almost a decade before and lay in a drawer. “Excuse me” is a song about my time .. a moment in time .. it’s time to bring back the one-time magic between the two to the studio and release this beautiful song. The music video for the song was filmed at the Tel Aviv Hall of Culture in the middle of the night.

Keren: “Harel is a muse who broke into my life and was part of my discovery process as a creator at the beginning of my journey. His clear and deep voice and the intelligent way in which he knew how to present a text, even at a very young age, as if he were an actor giving the monologue of his life in the theater, sent me to write one of the significant songs that was a milestone in my musical work – “and”. To this day at every show I get excited to sing it and connect with it every time from a new place. After the song came out and the exciting resonance it received, I wrote another song for Harel. “Forgive me” has been waiting for over fourteen years in a drawer for the right moment, when we both mature to serve it to the world and that moment has now come. After meeting from a new place and we both went through processes on the way to coming to terms with ourselves, we spontaneously entered the studio and recorded it, just as it is, and now it is yours. With a message of forgiveness, completion and stepping forward to a better and quieter place. “

Words

Autumn is blowing and you are falling from my heart like a fall
A wind storms over my back and you walk away
To that shaky house
Swinging on us for many years
forgive me

I love you in a sad and scattered way
You always stay stable and do not deteriorate
Our mountain overlooks me beautifully
I hide my face
forgive me

Excuse me I am a lone flashlight
Forgive me my heart wanders to you
Despite everything just without you
I feel great
Forgive yesterday’s happiness
For that I can no longer give
What really comes
About the pain, about what I still love
Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me ..

I did not mean to hurt you with words
It’s just grief
Who stood tough in front of me
Stabs like a razor
You will establish a home for me
The house is the path I will take
forgive me
Excuse me I am a lone flashlight
Forgive me my heart wanders to you
Despite everything just without you
I feel great
Forgive yesterday’s happiness
For that I can no longer give
What really comes
I’m a lone flashlight

Forgive me, my heart wanders to you
Despite everything just without you
I feel great
Forgive yesterday’s happiness
For that I can no longer give
What really comes
About the pain, about what I still love
Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me ..
