jpnn.com – JAKARTA – PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir has not yet named the new coach for the Indonesian National Team after firing Shin Tae Yong.
However, he revealed that the new coaching candidate who will be burdened with the target of getting to the 2026 World Cup is a tactician from the Netherlands.
Erick said this at a press conference in Jakarta, Monday (6/1).

“Several names who already have names in the world of football, they are not only looking for work, they also definitely want to have a legacy to be part of Indonesia’s history towards the 2026 World Cup,” said Erick.
He said he got this new coach when he visited Europe at the end of December 2024.
There, he said, he found three coaching candidates who then narrowed it down to one name.
The 54 year old man also said that his party ended their collaboration with Shin Tae Yong on good terms.
Erick Thohir has not recently been hunting for a replacement coach for Shin Tae Yong. The peak is at the end of December.
