Geneva: Russia’s resolution in the UN Security Council on a humanitarian draft resolution on Ukraine has failed.
Russia has been waging war on Ukraine for a month. This has led to various crises in the international market globally. And the nations of the world are urging Russia to stop this war.
Yet it has imposed a severe economic crisis on Russia, which continues to fight aggressively. In this context, Russia brought a humanitarian draft resolution to the UN Security Council.
The resolution passed without mentioning Russia’s war on Ukraine. The Council has 15 member countries. Russia’s resolution requires the support of at least nine countries.
But 13 members abstained. Only Russia and its ally China supported the humanitarian draft resolution. Russia’s resolution on Ukraine was rejected due to a lack of support for the resolution.
