jpnn.com – Persib Bandung has officially brought in a player with a Curacao passport, Gervane Kastaneer, to fill the wing position.

The Blue Prince has tied the footballer born in Rotterdam, June 9 1996, to a 1.5 year contract.

Sporting Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat Adhitia Putra Herawan said Kastaneer’s recruitment was based on recommendations and the results of discussions with coach Bojan Hodak who really needed a winger, who could also be placed in another position.

“In response to the coach’s recommendation, we then immediately carried out negotiations and succeeded in establishing an agreement with the player concerned,” said Adhit in his statement, Wednesday (8/1/2025).

Before joining Persib, Kastaneer strengthened the Spanish Segunda Division club, Castellon in the 2023/2024 season.

Kastaneer has also played for a number of European clubs such as ADO Den Haag, NAC Breda (Netherland), Kaiserlautern (Germany), and Coventy (England).

Persib management was forced to remove Mailson Lima from the squad list considering that Maung Bandung’s foreign player quota had been fulfilled.

However, Persib will still try to find a new club for this attacking midfielder with a Dutch passport, either through a loan or transfer scheme. (mcr27/jpnn)
