Doral reports this morning (Wednesday) that the US subsidiary has signed two more agreements for the sale of electricity and “green certificates” in the cumulative amount of about 530 megawatts to the American Electric Power Corporation (“AEP”), as part of the Mammoth project Central, part of the giant Indiana Mammoth Solar project and for the Goonies project in Pennsylvania, for a period of 15 years from the commercial launch date expected in 2024.
The company estimates that the total receipts from the sale of electricity and ‘green certificates’ that are expected to be received from these two agreements are about 490 to about 530 million dollars. This is in addition to income components that will be based on free market prices, both during and after the agreements period.
Doral has completed signatures on power sale agreements and ‘green certificates’ for the entire power of the Indiana project and for a cumulative power of approximately 1,730 megawatts in the United States in total.
The total receipts from the sale of electricity and ‘green certificates’ that are expected to be received from all the projects in the US, in the first 15 years under the various agreements, stand at about $ 1.5 billion, in addition to significant revenue components that will be based on free market prices. The Mammoth Solar project in Indiana, USA, covers an area of about 50,000 acres and is expected to produce about 1,600 megawatts (DC) of clean energy – enough to provide electricity to 275,000 households in the Midwest each year. At the beginning of the month, a work order was issued for the first part of the project (Mammoth North), which provided 480 megawatts (DC) and a construction agreement (EPC) was signed.
