The leader of Lebanon’s Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, announced today, Wednesday, that he was withdrawing from the presidential race.

Franjieh said in a statement carried by the (INA), that, “Now that the conditions for electing the president of the Republic are in place tomorrow, and in view of the things that have emerged, I announce the withdrawal. of my candidacy, which has never been an obstacle to the electoral process.”
He added, “Thanking everyone who voted for me, I give – and according to what I announced in previous posts – support for General Joseph Aoun, who has the characteristics of the first presidential position preserve, and I wish Parliament every success. success in the electoral process, and may the country succeed in this phase with unity.”
