Badhu Sheikh, a member of the Trinamool Congress party in West Bengal, was assassinated on March 21. In the aftermath of his murder in violence in Bokdui village in Rampurhat in his hometown of Birbhum district yesterday, some unidentified persons set fire to several houses yesterday, killing 8 of them alive.
The incident has caused great unrest across the state of West Bengal. The BJP is waging a struggle against the ruling Trinamool Congress.
In this situation, the Kolkata I-Court voluntarily filed a case and conducted an inquiry into the Beerboom violence. The ICC yesterday ordered the West Bengal state government to install CCTV cameras for 24×7 surveillance to ensure that witnesses are protected and evidence in the area is protected.
Following this, CCTV cameras have been installed in the Rampurhat area of West Bengal where the violence took place.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit the violence-hit area today.
