Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of the France-Morocco friendship group at the French Senate, Mr. Ould Errachid expressed the willingness of the House of Advisors to engage in all initiatives aimed at consolidating the institutional relations, in particular the reactivation of the work of the friendship and cooperation group in the two chambers “which constitutes a unique mechanism for maintaining a permanent dialogue and guaranteeing the regular exchange of visits and the sharing of expertise”, indicates a press release of the House.
In this regard, Mr. Ould Errachid said he was proud of the continued progress of bilateral relations, thanks to cooperation between the two friendly countries, particularly after the historic visit of the President of the French Republic to Morocco at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who marked a new chapter in bilateral relations, making them a unique model in international relations in view of decades of joint action which resulted in a global and integrated framework based on on conventions and treaties bilateral relations in all areas of cooperation.
The President of the House of Advisors emphasized the strategic importance of the Declaration relating to the reinforced exceptional partnership signed between the two countries at the end of this visit “which laid the foundations for the future of Moroccan-French cooperation, particularly in terms of strengthening strategic political dialogue, deepening economic partnership, and consolidating human and cultural ties.
He also welcomed the visits made by the friendship group to the French Senate to the different regions of the Kingdom, in particular the southern provinces “in order to learn about the all-out development experienced by these provinces, under the enlightened conduct of His Majesty King Mohammed VI”.
Mr. Ould Errachid also noted that the planned visit of the President of the French Senate to Morocco will be an opportunity to consolidate the exceptional partnership between the two countries and to explore broader horizons for parliamentary relations between Morocco and France, particularly between the House of Advisors and the Senate.
He also said he was convinced that the next edition of the Parliamentary Forum between the two countries will be a major step to continue the coordination of positions in the face of new challenges and concerns in the world and to discuss issues of common interest.
For its part, the delegation of the Franco-Moroccan friendship group to the French Senate welcomed the fraternal and historical ties uniting the French Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco, welcoming, in the same sense, the exceptional cooperative relations between the French Senate and the Chamber of Advisors.
In this sense, emphasis was placed on the leading roles played by the friendship groups in the two chambers within the framework of joint efforts aimed at promoting bilateral relations having experienced a new dynamic after the visit of the French president in Morocco.
The French delegation stressed the importance of intensifying joint parliamentary action to move forward in Moroccan-French relations, through strengthening cooperation between friendship groups and optimizing the opportunities offered, particularly in areas related to youth, digitalization and communication.
In this context, the French delegation said it was impressed following the field visit to the port of Dakhla Atlantic, as a regional development hub which opens the way to strengthening cooperation with Africa and the Atlantic area. .
