Azerbaijan purchased electric freight locomotives from Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan exported to Azerbaijan 80 sections of electric freight locomotives produced at the enterprise in industrial zone No. 1 of Astana.

As Day.Az reports, this was reported in the press service of the President of Kazakhstan. This enterprise was launched as part of the industrialization program by the French company Alstom.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the enterprise on Monday, which also produces locomotive bodies, transformers, low-voltage and high-voltage cabinets, etc.

It is reported that the enterprise has produced and maintained 380 freight and 70 passenger electric locomotives and their components for the national company Kazakhstan Railways. During the inspection of the workshops, the head of state was informed about the development of a new generation locomotive, the cost of which was reduced by 40% and efficiency increased by 20%.

It should be noted that Alstom is currently investing in the construction of service centers in Astana, Almaty, Shu and Arys, which will create an additional 700 jobs.
