Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries of the Government of National Unity, the activities of the first session of the “Gharyan Tourism Days for Shopping, Crafts and Heritage” were opened.
The events will be held at the Traditional Industries Training Center in the city of Gharyan in the Western Mountain, and will continue on January 9 and 10.
Nasr al-Din Milad al-Fazzani, who is in charge of managing the affairs of the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries, participated in the opening activities. It was organized and supervised by the Traditional Industries Training Center in the Western Mountain, in cooperation with the Libya Foundation for Heritage and Traditional Industries and the “Alou Al-Him” organization.
During his speech on this occasion, Al-Fazzani stressed “the importance of holding such cultural and heritage events in cities that abound with a great cultural and tourism heritage,” noting the necessity of displaying these cities in a manner befitting their historical and cultural status, and appreciating the efforts made to organize and make this event a success.
The festival activities also witnessed the organization of an exhibition of heritage collectibles, with wide participation from craftsmen in various fields, including the manufacture of traditional clothes, pottery, jewelry, and popular foods. This event comes within the framework of efforts made to promote domestic tourism, support traditional crafts and industries, and highlight Libyan heritage with its various components.
