National Film Day Discussion Will Discuss Trends and Challenges of Indonesian Film

jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Entertainment Journalists Forum (Forwan) commemorates National Film Day which falls on March 30 2025, by holding a discussion entitled ‘Joyful Space with Film Producers, Directors and Artists.

This event, which collaborates with the Bakti Wartawan Nusantara Foundation, aims to examine the development of the Indonesian film industry as well as provide inspiration for filmmakers.

This discussion presented a number of speakers from the film industry, such as Chiska Doppret, a director who is nicknamed the “Queen of Horror Films”; H. Firman Bintang, producer of Bintang Indonesia Citra (BIC); and Shankar RS, producer from Makara Production.

They will share their views on film trends, especially the phenomenon of horror films which are increasingly dominating Indonesian cinema screens.

“We want to celebrate National Film Day by providing space for filmmakers to share insights and experiences, as well as entertain participants with a relaxed concept,” said Sutrisno Buyil, Chairman of Forwan, in his statement, Friday (10/1).

The event, which will take place in March 2025, will also be enlivened by performances by singers, creating a jovial atmosphere that is characteristic of Forwan’s activities.

Apart from that, participants will be invited to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the film industry in the modern era.

It is hoped that this discussion will become a forum for strengthening relations between film people and society, as well as encouraging creativity amidst global competition.

Forwan will explain the trends and challenges of Indonesian cinema, in the discussion on National Film Day 2025.
