jpnn.comBANDUNG – Indonesian U-17 National Team coach Nova Arianto admitted that he was quite satisfied with the composition of his team ahead of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup tournament in Saudi Arabia, next April.
Nova Arianto called 34 names to take part in the training camp at Sidolig Stadium, Bandung City. However, two players had not arrived because they were still on their way.
Nova said he would only bring 23 players to Saudi Arabia.
Therefore, players must show their best abilities in order to get a place in the U-17 Asian Cup.
“In total, we only had 23 finalists (players), but as time went on we brought in 34, including TC in Yogyakarta which was still 34, before we narrowed it down,” said Nova when met after the training session, Friday (10/1/2025).
The former Persib player said he was quite satisfied with the composition of the team he had. Even so, the final list of players brought in is still being monitored.
According to Nova, the 34 names called were potential players who had been monitored while playing in the EPA tournament. He is optimistic that the players can show their best performance and meet his expectations.
“At the beginning of the training, I was quite satisfied with what they had been doing at the EPA because on average we monitored them there, we could see that their posture, body and skills were quite good,” he explained.
“Just which player can be more prepared and can show what I want, he will come in,” he said. (mcr27/jpnn)
