On the 11th, the People Power Party claimed that the Democratic Party, which accused the YouTuber of insurrection propaganda, was “silencing the people with indiscriminate accusations.”
Park Soo-min, spokesperson for the People Power Party, said in a comment that day, “The Democratic Party has once again started a war against YouTubers, citing the crime of insurrection propaganda.”
He continued, “The YouTubers that the Democratic Party reported to the police today are six operators of channels ‘Faithful Water,’ ‘New Men’s Solidarity,’ ‘Gong Byeong-ho TV,’ ‘Ground C,’ ‘Kim Chae-hwan’s Current Affairs,’ and ‘Kim Sang-jin TV.’” He added, “So far, there are as many as 10 YouTubers that the Democratic Party has accused of ‘insurgency propaganda.’”
Spokesperson Park said, “The Democratic Party is silencing the people with indiscriminate accusations. “Are you trying to destroy the constitutional freedom of publication, assembly, and press?” he said, adding, “Why did the Constitutional Court remove the crime of treason when they attach so much importance to it?”
He said, “In order to stabilize national affairs and resolve confusion, we must listen more carefully to the ‘voice of the people’ than ever before.”
Park, the floor spokesperson, argued that “in legal terms, the crime of insurrection propaganda can only be established through acts committed before the insurrection,” and that “the Democratic Party’s accusation of insurrection propaganda is a clear distortion of the law.”
He said, “The Democratic Party should stop indiscriminately labeling it an ‘insurrection’ and quickly focus on its responsibilities and duties as the largest party.”
