An Iraqi security source announced that “warplanes were able to eliminate the deputy assistant governor of ISIS and 6 of his aides in Kirkuk Governorate.”

Al-Sumaria News website quoted the source as saying, “Today, the Iraqi Air Force carried out an air strike targeting an ISIS hideout in the Hamrin Mountains, which led to the killing of the deputy assistant governor of ISIS (Maher Hamad Salbi – Abu Ubaida) and 6 of his aides.”

The source added, “A security force arrived at the scene and found two M16 weapons, a thermal sight, two hand grenades, an explosive belt, four magazines, six mobile phones, a flash memory, a solar panel, and mattresses.”

Last Saturday, the Iraqi army was able to destroy the headquarters of the terrorist organization “ISIS” in the Hamrin mountain range in the country.

The Iraqi News Agency “INA” quoted the Security Media Cell in the Iraqi Army as saying, “The operations of our heroic security forces are still continuing on the various sectors of responsibility with greater momentum and specific targeting to pursue members of the terrorist ISIS gangs that are breathing their last.”

The media cell confirmed that “the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service carried out a search operation in the Hamrin mountain range, located within the Kirkuk Governorate Operations Command, where it spotted a terrorist shelter inside which ISIS members attempted to attack the Iraqi force.”

Last Friday, the Iraqi National Security Service announced “the arrest of an ISIS member who was planning to carry out a terrorist attack in Tuz Khurmato district.”
