On Friday, personalized reminders – pop-up notifications – were created for “Latvija.gov.lv” and e-mail users who have not confirmed their e-mail for receiving informative notifications from the portal.

The VDAA states that the state transmission continues to actively develop e-services and the possibilities of “Latvija.gov.lv” will be used more and more actively to inform and serve citizens, and the most convenient way for citizens to receive informative notifications is their most frequently used e-mail.

Pop-up notifications for authorized users will be visible on the home page of the portal and on all email correspondence pages. The portal window can be closed, but it will reappear after a while if the user has not confirmed the email.

At the same time, VDAA emphasizes that the pop-up window will not disturb users during the execution of e-services.

VDAA director Jorens Liopa calls on citizens to treat with understanding the invitation to indicate their e-mail for the sake of practical, everyday convenience, so as not to miss important news and decisions.

The pop-up will only be shown to users who have an email address entered in their profile but not verified. For those who have already confirmed the email, there is no need to do anything and the pop-up window will not appear.

It has already been reported that in the spring of 2024, the VDAA invited citizens to confirm their e-mail specified on the “Latvija.gov.lv” portal, to which they receive notifications about the news received at the e-mail address. The approval process was necessary in order to ensure the validity of the existing data of “Latvija.gov.lv”.

On the other hand, residents’ posts on social networks showed that in some cases, residents did not notice the invitation to confirm the renewed e-mail address, ignored the invitation, or failed to confirm the e-mail address due to technical reasons.
