Morocco and Ivory Coast, which have taken very important steps in terms of agricultural development, have many common factors and good practices to exchange together, noted the minister, noting that the two parties agreed to discuss the issue of water, which is today a central subject in international debates and political dialogues.
Morocco, which experiences repeated droughts, has developed techniques and technologies in terms of mobilizing and saving water through the modernization of irrigation systems, observed the government official, noting that “the Moroccan experience can benefit Côte d’Ivoire in terms of transferring water from areas where there is a surplus to those that require continuous irrigation.”
“We also agreed to put our reciprocal institutions at the service of research subjects of common interest with a view, in particular, to boosting relations between Moroccan and Ivorian businessmen around agricultural products and value chains,” he said. he added.
For his part, Mr. Adjoumani indicated that this meeting was an opportunity to discuss subjects affecting the agricultural sector and to explore the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in this area.
Welcoming the brotherly relations that exist between the two countries, the Ivorian minister noted that Morocco is far ahead in terms of water management and represents a model for Côte d’Ivoire.
And he added that the Kingdom plays today, through the OCP group, an important role in supporting Ivorian farmers.
