Leonardo, a global leader in aerospace, defense and security, sees significant potential for participation in the Middle Corridor project.

Leonardo’s vice president for international business development in Northeast Asia, Oceania, Central Asia and India said this in an interview with Day.Az Angelo Cecchinireports Day.Az.

He noted Leonardo’s commitment to support the goals of the Middle Corridor, aimed at creating a secure, efficient and sustainable connectivity infrastructure between Europe and Asia.

“The region’s key role in connecting Europe and Asia is reaffirmed and strengthened by the Middle Corridor. This initiative provides Leonardo with a range of opportunities to contribute to the creation of safe and efficient infrastructure, strengthening our position as an important partner in regional development,” the vice president said.

The company is committed to applying its advanced technologies in border control and critical infrastructure protection to ensure smooth and secure trade along the Middle Corridor. Cecchini emphasized the key role of secure communications, including satellite solutions, terrestrial communications systems and robust cybersecurity measures.

“Our solutions provide reliable and secure data transmission, and also allow us to effectively monitor and manage transport flows – be it railways, highways or ports – which is critical for logistics and trade,” he said.

In addition, Leonardo is poised to improve logistics operations through Earth observation services and advanced digital tools. Cecchini noted that such surveillance technologies allow for real-time cargo tracking and predictive analytics, which helps optimize logistics.

“Leonardo’s digital solutions, using artificial intelligence and our ‘Da Vinci’ supercomputer, can improve the efficiency of regional logistics networks,” he added. These technologies increase supply chain visibility, streamline cargo movement, and improve multimodal transport hubs, helping to expand connectivity across the region.
