8 people died in a traffic accident in Wadi Zamzam

This morning, Sunday, a horrific traffic accident occurred on the Wadi Al-Lud road in Wadi Zamzam (east of the city of Misrata), which led to the death of 8 people and the injury of 20 others.

The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Unity extended its “deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims who lost their lives as a result of the tragic traffic accident that occurred today in the Lod area, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries among the passengers of the bus that was carrying 40 passengers.”

The Ministry affirmed that it is “closely following the condition of the injured who were transferred to health facilities to receive the necessary medical care, and it also expressed its full solidarity with the families of the victims in this great affliction, asking God to cover the deceased with His wide mercy, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.”

The Ministry of Health called on “all road users to be careful and adhere to traffic safety guidelines in order to preserve lives and the safety of everyone.”

In this context, the representative of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, said in a statement: “We were saddened by the news of the recording of deaths and injuries of others today, Sunday, as a result of the accident of a passenger bus overturning on the Wadi Al-Lud Abu Najim Al-Jufra road. With this great injury, and with hearts that believe in God’s will and destiny, I offer my deepest condolences and sympathy.” My heart goes out to our people in the “Al-Jufra and Dan Sukna” areas, and all of Libya regarding the death of the victims of the accident. I pray to God Almighty that He accepts them with his wide mercy, and inspires patience and solace in their families and loved ones. We belong to God and to Him we shall return, and my wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.”
