jpnn.comJAKARTA – Senior PDIP politician Emir Moeis asked President Prabowo Subianto to immediately improve state governance and the legal reform system in Indonesia.

“That’s why I really appeal to the new President-elect, Pak Prabowo, to quickly improve our state administration and laws,” said the Emir at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Friday evening (10/1).

The former member of the DPR also asked that in the Prabowo era there would no longer be criminalization in determining suspects, including PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. Emir also touched on the alleged bribery case that involved him in connection with the Alstom Power Incorporated Consortium in the Tarahan PLTU construction project in Lampung.

“When politics and the law can be played with. What about me, an unknown person from America suddenly said he was giving me a bribe. I never knew anything, the person who was said to have never appeared, the summoned witness didn’t come. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was also silent, ” he explained.

Even so, the former General Chair of the Marhaenis Youth Movement Leadership Council emphasized that law enforcement agencies such as the Corruption Eradication Committee and the National Police are still needed in Indonesia. However, he asked President Prabowo to reorganize the KPK and Police so that they become professional institutions and are not influenced by politics.

“KPK is a good thing, but actually it is ‘the man behind the gun’ that must be fixed. So, it depends on the people (leaders). If the people are jerks, yes, it will be damaged,” stressed the Emir.

The politician from East Kalimantan also expressed his support for Prabowo to improve the governance of the legal reform system in Indonesia. The Emir hopes that Prabowo will not be easily influenced by certain parties in his efforts to achieve a Golden Indonesia 2045.

“Executing the law as it should be, and the president received grace from God. He holds the presidential pen, the golden pen for Indonesia Raya to 2045,” he added. (tan/jpnn)
