In the city of Baku, 20,755 parking spaces have been organized at approximately 2,324 parking points.
As Day.Az reported on Friday, Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, said this at a press conference for journalists today.
He noted that about 11 percent of parking spaces are located in the center, 48 percent in zone I, 30 percent in zone II, 10 percent in zone III and 1 percent in zone IV.
“A system for managing parking using software and SMS was introduced. The AzParking mobile application was launched, which allows you to pay for parking exclusively in cashless form. Individual parking tickets are provided entirely electronically through the system. Over the past period, 19,242 parking tickets were issued,” – the chairman emphasized.
According to him, a new paradigm in the field of parking has been created and the availability of parking spaces has been ensured.
In addition, a pedestrian zone was created around the Khatai Garden and in front of the Gosha Gala gate in Icheri Sheher.
On weekends and holidays, access for use by pedestrians is provided on some central streets of the city, such as Z. Aliyev, T. Aliyarbekov, G. Z. Tagiyev, Y. Mamedaliyev, A. Alizadeh streets,” added A. Rzayev.
