For health reasons, Julián Güitrón Fuentevilla resigned from evaluation committee of candidates for the Judiciary composed of the Congress of the Mexico City.

Through a letter addressed to the deputy Alberto Martínez UrinchoGüitrón Fuentevilla communicated his resignation to the Capital Legislative Evaluation Committee, in which he served as vocal.

“In my own right, in my capacity as a member of the Evaluation Committee of the capital’s Legislative PowerI am writing to you as a member of this special commission of the CDMX Congress to inform you that for health reasons “I resign from the aforementioned position,” reads the letter dated January 8.

The resignation of the member was notified just 48 hours later of the formation of the Committee for the Special Commission for the Selection of Judges and Magistrates of the Capital Congressin the midst of the controversy over the parity ruling, as it is made up of four men and one woman.

Prior to the resignation of the member, the Evaluation Committee of the local Legislative Branch was composed of Sandra Araceli Vivanco Moralesas president; Mauricio Augusto Calcaneo Monts, as technical secretary; and Israel Sandoval Jiménez, Mario Juárez Ugalde and Julián Güitrón Fuentevilla, as members.

In her first message to the media, the committee chair reported that the members will design a work route to advance the evolution of the profiles of those seeking to be judges and magistrates in Mexico City.
