The winter transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are in the middle of it. Rumors and fixed changes from the world of football can be found here.
With the beginning of 2025, the transfer window opened in the Bundesliga and other European leagues. In Germany the transfer period ends on February 3rd. After that, players can still move abroad, provided the leagues there have a later transfer deadline.
Which clubs are most in need of reinforcements, what is FC Bayern doing and what is the situation at the top European clubs? These and many other questions will be answered this transfer winter. At t-online you can find an overview of the most important guesses and changes from Germany and the world.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from SSC Napoli is on the verge of leaving. Before the weekend’s duel against Hellas Verona (2-0), coach Antonio Conte confirmed his desire for an immediate change: “Kvara asked the club to be allowed to change. I spoke to the player and he confirmed his decision.” The striker was already missing from the squad.
Recently there was speculation about a departure to Paris Saint-Germain. There is a transfer fee of 80 million euros in the room. Kvaratskhelia came to Naples in 2022, coach Conte would have liked to keep him. He received the news out of the blue and, after a move had already been discussed last summer, he thought he had convinced Kvaratskhelia to stay.
“We are losing a great footballer,” emphasized Conte, who is said to have already set his sights on a successor for the striker. Naples are apparently looking at Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho. As “Sport Italia” reports, the English first division club is not averse to letting Garnacho go. The club is said to be demanding 50 million euros for the 20-year-old.
Renato Veiga is apparently about to go on loan to Borussia Dortmund. This is reported by the pay TV channel Sky. Accordingly, the 21-year-old verbally agreed with BVB about a change. Negotiations with Veiga’s club Chelsea would now begin. A loan with a purchase option is being discussed.
The three-time Portuguese international plays primarily in the left-back position, but can also be used in central defense. He knows the Bundesliga from his time at FC Augsburg, to which the 1.90 meter tall defender was loaned out in 2023.
“Well, I don’t think you’ll really put all this on the scales. There’s a lot of reporting, a lot of telling and not everything that’s written and said is always true,” he said after Hessen’s 1-0 win at the FC St. Pauli at the start of the Bundesliga year and repeated his statement on the TV channel Sky. “As I said, there is interest from a club, but nothing more so far.”
Defender Sadik Fofana is leaving Bayer Leverkusen and moving to Grazer AK with immediate effect. As the Austrian club announced, the 21-year-old Togo national player signed a contract until 2027. The contract in Leverkusen would have expired at the end of the current season.
