/ The Turkish Statistics Authority announced that Iraq ranked third among the countries that imported the most from Turkey last September, indicating a decrease in Turkish exports and imports by 0.5% and 14.6%, respectively.
The authority said in its report, seen by Agency, that “Turkey’s exports for the month of September amounted to 22 billion and 490 million dollars, recording a decrease of 0.5 percent, compared to the same month of the year 2022,” indicating that “Turkey’s imports in September recorded 27 billion and 501 million dollars, a decrease of 14.6%, compared to the same period in 2022.”
She pointed out that “Iraq came third in Turkey’s exports to countries around the world last September with a value of one billion and 196 million dollars, while Germany was the main partner country for exports with one billion and 746 million dollars, followed by the United States of America second with one billion and 201 million dollars.” Then Italy came fourth with one billion and 96 million dollars, and the United Kingdom came fifth with one billion and 69 million dollars.
Iraq imports most of its goods, merchandise and foodstuffs from neighboring countries, especially Türkiye and Iran, and to a lesser extent from the Arab Gulf countries and Jordan.
