TRENTO. The protest of metalworkers in Trentino for the renewal of the national contract continues. After the first four hours of strike last Friday, the blue suits will cross their arms again tomorrow, Tuesday 14 January, in the last four hours of each shift.
The mobilization is jointly called by Fiom, Fim and Uilm and in every situation the RSUs have the possibility of articulating the strike in a different way.
Also tomorrow, at 11.45, in front of the Siemens plant in Spini di Gardolo, the provincial secretaries of Fiom, Fim and Uilm will hold a press conference to take stock of the contractual dispute and the progress of the mobilization.
In South Tyrol the unions have called an eight-hour strike for today metalworkers from Acciaierie, Aluminum Bozen and Alpitronic, approximately 1,500 workers, after the interruption of negotiations for the renewal of the national employment contract. The table fell through after a series of no’s from the entrepreneurs: requests for salary increases were rejected, in particular a 280 euro increase in stages for the C3 level, and no willingness to regulate the use of precarious contracts through the national contract.
“For working hours, there is no willingness to reduce it and regulate smart working, as well as no willingness to recognize leave to reconcile life and care times for children and parents. In the platform then no economic guarantee and employment would exist for workers in the event of a change of contract”, the secretaries Marco Bernardoni (Fiom/Cgil), Riccardo Conte (Fim/Cisl) and Giuseppe Pelella (Uilm/Uil) explained in the press conference. Concern was also expressed for Intercable Automotive Solutions of Brunico which announced a redundancy of 50 jobs. Tomorrow there will be a meeting with the company to clarify the terms of the negotiation.
