As a result of a long fire in California, the fire has already reached the ocean. Bad weather is adding to the fire’s destruction, destroying homes and restaurants along the iconic California 1 highway.
Voice of America reports this.
The video included a destroyed Malibu and a highway in Southern California that stretches along the Pacific coast.
The fire in Los Angeles started on January 7. It has already been called the most destructive in the 243 years of the city’s existence. Its flames engulfed the Altadena, Pasadena and especially Pacific Palisades neighborhoods, an upscale enclave of the rich and famous. More than 70% of Pacific Palisades was destroyed by fire. The fire destroyed more than 12 thousand buildings, and more than 180 thousand people were forced to evacuate. Many of them are now unable to return home as the fire has reduced their residential areas to rubble. 24 people have already been confirmed dead.
Warnings about possible fires in Southern California began to flow immediately after the New Year: on January 2, the National Interagency Fire Center reported a high risk of fires and hurricane-force winds. National Weather Service forecasts warned of a high potential for intense fires, and a critical alert level was issued on Jan. 3. By January 7, when the fires were at their worst, winds were reaching 100 mph (160 km/h), some of the strongest wind events since the 2011 hurricane, which also caused widespread damage in the region.
Despite the destruction of almost all infrastructure, residents of Pacific Palisades are not going to leave their area and are confident that they will rebuild their homes and life there will be the same again.
Let us remind you that “Cursor” wrote that supporters of conspiracy theories are again in the spotlight. Some believe that the fires were caused by aliens or the Chinese. In support of their version, they provide several videos that show strange flying objects resembling drones, missiles or bright flashes. There is active discussion online that it could be aliens or the Chinese who set fire to California.
