Pakistan out of England’s women’s World Cup victory

Christchurch: England-Pakistan clashed in the 24th league match of the Women’s World Cup yesterday. England won the toss and elected to field. Unable to cope with England’s innings, Pakistan lost all their wickets in 41.3 overs and added only 105 runs. Siddhartha Amin top-scored with 32 and Siddhartha Nawaz with 23. Diana then chased down England’s Dummy by 2 runs with an easy target of 106 to win.

But the next pair Danielle 76 *, Captain Heather 24 *, scored an unbeaten run. England scored 107 in 19.2 overs and won by 9 wickets. Danielle was named the Player of the Match. Pakistan, who have won only one, miss out on a chance to advance to the semi-finals.
