BOLZANO. Shortly before, he had stolen from a club in Piazza Erbe in Bolzano a customer’s bag. Thanks to the geolocation of the mobile phone, which was inside it, the man was immediately identified by a police patrol in viale Europawhile hiding in the entrance of an apartment building.

At this point the officers made the stolen phone ring, but the man fought back, kicking, punching and spitting, even tearing a policeman’s uniform.

While the bag with the phone and cash were returned to the owner, the 32-year-old Moroccan citizen was arrested, awaiting immediate judgement. The police commissioner Paolo Sartori, therefore, started the procedure for the revocation of the residence permit and the expulsion from the national territory.

“Another attack against police officers during an intervention, yet another one that has occurred in recent times in Bolzano – highlighted Sartori -. It is unacceptable that those who represent the State, in enforcing the law, should systematically suffer insults and violence. For this reason it was decided to proceed with the arrest of the person responsible and to initiate procedures aimed at removing from our country those who have repeatedly demonstrated, even violently, that they do not respect its laws and institutions”.
