According to industry information Ming Chi Kuothe iPad Pro, powered by Apple’s next-generation M5 processor, is expected to go into mass production in the second half of next year. The main manufacturer of the iPad Pro with M5 will be the Chinese company BYD Electronics, which will also be the exclusive manufacturer of Apple’s new HomePod display device planned for late 2025. This was reported by MacRumors, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
Apple released the latest iPad Pro with an OLED display in May 2024, introducing its M4 chip along with it. Currently, the company has already ordered M5 chips from TSMC, starting the development of its next generation processor. The M5 series is expected to feature advanced ARM architecture and be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process technology.
Apple’s decision to use a 3nm process instead of TSMC’s more advanced 2nm process for the M5 chip is believed to be due to economic considerations. However, the M5 will still have significant advantages over the M4.
Of the other details about the future iPad Pro, the only thing that is now known is that the new product will likely receive an updated Apple logo. Apple plans to change its portrait orientation to landscape, like the MacBook.
