Driver dies after being hit by crocodile on road, Driver dies, Alligator hits, Near Thampa

FLORIDA: An 11-foot-tall crocodile was hit by a car and overturned, killing the driver.

The incident took place on the morning of March 24 in Lithia, 20 miles southeast of Tampa.

The car was driven by 59-year-old John Hopkins. The initial conclusion of the police was that the crocodile could not be seen lying across the road due to lack of light.

The car skidded off the road and overturned into a ditch on the side of the road.

Another passenger who passed by in the morning saw the car involved in the accident. Police arrived at the scene and found the driver dead inside the car and the crocodile lying slightly dead.

Highway police said this was the first such accident. The investigation is progressing. Police have not disclosed further details about the accident.
