Jeddah: Houthi rebels in Yemen attack a fuel depot in Saudi Arabia. The Houthis attacked Jeddah on Friday ahead of a Formula One race in Saudi Arabia. It is considered to be the largest attack by Houthi rebels. However, Saudi officials said the upcoming Grand Prix would go ahead as planned.

Meanwhile, the Saudis retaliated against the attacking Houthis. Saudi Arabia has carried out airstrikes in the Yemeni capitals of Sanaa and Hodeidah. The Saudis had warned that they would eliminate those who attacked them.

The attack targeted the same fuel depot that the Houthis had attacked in recent days. The North Jeddah Bulk Plant, located southeast of the city’s International Airport, is a major destination for Muslim pilgrims to Mecca. No one was reported injured in the attack.
