Attractive throughout the winter, Hercule Madrik (No. 8) again proved intractable to win the first straight of his career. The composure of his driver, Éric Raffin, who avoided the battle at the front, unlike some of his opponents, certainly made the difference. This patience is rewarded on arrival by a big advance in favor of the pupil of Jean-Michel Baudouin. As so often, Franck Nivard was patient despite an uncomfortable position in the second layer, nose to the wind. It allows to Harlem de Bucy (n° 1) to keep the first runner-up in front of Hamilton du Ham (#6). Barefooted for the first time in his career, Hold Up Dream (n° 3) drew a promising finish to take fourth place. In slight retreat, Horus of Romaz (No. 12) completes the good combination of the fifth.
