The father beat his son to death near Omalur and pretended to commit suicide. Police have arrested two people, including the father who killed his son in the case.
Danapal hails from Tholasampatti Dasankadu area near Omalur in Salem district. He is married and has two children. There are various cases against him in various police stations including Tiruchengode in Namakkal district. In this case, it is said that Tanapal’s wife divorced him four months ago and married someone else.
Following this he lived with his father in the Tholasampatti area. Also, he used to get drunk every day and get into fights with his parents. In this situation, the Tholasampatti police was informed that Danapal had committed suicide by hanging himself on the 1st.
Upon learning of the incident, the police recovered Danpal’s body and sent it to the Salem Government Hospital for autopsy. In this case, his autopsy report revealed that he had been kicked in both legs and strangled to death.
Following this, the Tholasampatti police turned the case of the suspect’s death into a murder case and investigated Danapal’s father Perumal and Perumal’s nephew Saranraj (19). During the interrogation, it was alleged that Danpal had threatened to kill himself by taking a knife while drunk, and that both Perumal and Saranraj had threatened to kill themselves and that he had strangled Danapala to death.
They also said that Danapal’s body was hung to cover this up. Following this, the Tholasampatti police arrested both Perumal and Saranraj, produced them in the Omalur court and lodged them in the Salem Central Jail.
