Thiruvananthapuram: Police have registered a case in a scuffle between locals and resorts in Vithurai. Police have registered a case of attempted murder against the resort owner and his friends Anil Kumar and Manoj for attacking locals. Police have also registered a case of harassing a minor girl during the clash. A case has been registered against three persons in the statement of the girl.
The clash between the locals and the resort residents took place in Vithurai last day. The construction of the resort has been going on for a year on the banks of the Chettachal River. According to the locals, the two men who came here went to bathe naked in the women’s dock. He was questioned by one of the locals and assaulted by those at the resort. The dispute escalated into clashes as more locals arrived on the scene.
According to locals, the resort owner’s friends went to bathe in the women’s beach without even wearing clothes. Locals Santosh and Mahil were injured in the clash. Locals also alleged that the resort had set up cameras on the banks of the river. There was an earlier altercation between the locals and the resort owner over the camera.
