Various areas in the Surinamese interior have been affected by flooding. The flooding can cause health problems such as diarrhea, vomiting or skin complaints.

In this context, the Ministry of Health, in consultation with the Medical Mission (MZ), has decided to provide the affected areas with medicines in preparation for a possible outbreak.

The transfer of the medicines took place on Thursday 24 March. The medical situation in the affected areas is closely monitored by the MZ, the Suriname Communications Service reports.
