More than 250 residents of Gush Shilo, along with the head of the Binyamin Israel Council, Gantz, demonstrated this evening (Saturday) at the entrance to the village of Singil near Road 60, in protest of the increasing incidence of stone-throwing by Arab rioters. According to the protesters, the Palestinian rioters tried to disturb them at the beginning of the incident, but these were dispersed by army and police forces.
It should be noted that on Thursday night, at 03:11, a report was received at Moked Binyamin about a stone block placed by a number of Arab rioters on the road that ascends to Levona and blocked the road. Three young women in their 20s were on their way to the settlement. They broke through the checkpoint when they noticed rioters starting to crowd around their car. During the escape, they collided with the vehicle of a resident of Ma’ale Levona, who also crashed into the scene. The driver reported to Moked Binyamin and the residents continued their journey to the Ma’ale Lavona settlement gate, and did not need medical treatment.
Attempted murder near Singil, between Ofra and Sheila: 3 Jewish women traveling to the pavilion encounter, as it appears, a stone block placed by Muslim terrorists.
The terrorists approached them and had already knocked on their car but they bravely managed to continue on a not-so-simple ride all the way to the top of the beacon. pic.twitter.com/vFoLPzcgth– EladHumi @ العاد هومينر (@EladHumi) March 25, 2022
Israel Ganz: “Always be wherever there is no security”
The Benjamin Council says tonight that in recent months deterrence has eroded and rioters are only stepping up their actions at all hours of the day, events that are already taking a toll and could end in disaster.
Council Chairman Israel Gantz spoke and demanded that Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett restore security and deterrence. “We have to be wherever there is no security. We value the army and the officers very much but the political echelon must allow them to step up and eradicate the rioters’ motivation to go out and hit.”
A spokesman for the Binyamin Regional Council said that in March there was an increase in the incidents of Arab terrorism in Binyamin. The data is based on the council’s Benjamin Security Center.
