Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the US president’s remarks, saying it was not Joe Biden’s decision whether President Vladimir Putin would remain in power but the Russian people’s. The Russian House of Representatives added: “The insults the US president has leveled against Putin are a tantrum of impotence. Perhaps the American leader is ill and needs a medical examination.” They were quoted as saying in a speech in the Polish capital, Biden, that “Putin can not stay in power.”
