New Delhi: With the deregulation of Kovid, international flights have resumed in the country in a phased manner after 2 years. Air traffic is expected to be fully operational by April.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given permission to 60 airlines from 40 countries to operate services as per the summer schedule. The summer schedule is until October 29th. Every week, 6 Indian airlines allow 1,466 international flights from India. These will serve 43 airports in 27 countries.
Indigo has announced that it will phase out the suspended 150 international services in April. Indigo resumed service to Thailand yesterday. Emirates has announced that all services to India will resume on April 1.
It is estimated that the number of international services at Delhi Airport, the country’s largest airport, will increase from 165 to 300. International travel is expected to increase by 66% by the first week of April.
