France team: Kanté back, Pogba absent from training

by time news

It was under blue skies and summer temperatures that the players of the France team trained this Sunday at the Pibarot stadium in Clairefontaine in front of 200 supporters present in the stands. Only Paul Pogba (contusion in his left foot) did not train but his presence in the group is not in question for the match against South Africa this Tuesday evening (9:15 p.m.) at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille .

His Manchester United teammate Raphaël Varane, who also suffers from a small bruise on his right foot, has cut short his training but he will be present in the North. Returning from Mali this Sunday morning after being absent in the first match against Côte d’Ivoire (2-1) for family reasons, N’Golo Kanté participated normally in the session and should start the match against the South Africans.

The penultimate session before the friendly match on Tuesday evening took place during an hour without great intensity with the menu of races, stretching, bullfighting and passing work. Package against the Ivorians due to an ENT infection, Kylian Mbappé, was all smiles during the exercises. He will celebrate his 54th cap against Afsud.

The probable composition of the Blues on Tuesday evening:

Maignan – Koundé, Varane (or Saliba), Kimpembe – Clauss, Kanté, Rabiot, Digne – Griezmann – Mbappé, Giroud (or Ben Yedder).
