Relatives have lodged a complaint with the Achuveli Police Station that a youth was abducted by unidentified persons in Puthur West – Navakari.
According to the complaint, the incident took place at around 9.30 last night when the power supply was cut off.
Arundhavarasa Sayanthan (age 30) from the same area was abducted by unknown persons.
Upon learning of the incident,
The young man noticed someone running out of the house and went outside the house, and the three chased the young man out of the garden in front of the house.
The youth did not return home after that. According to the complaint, his mobile phone was found about 400 meters from his house when relatives searched for him.
Meanwhile, on the 12th, unidentified persons came to the youth’s house and attacked him. The father of the injured youth is still receiving treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
Relatives of the youth said the two men arrested in connection with the attack were released on bail yesterday.
Achuveli police are investigating the incident.
Police said some were being investigated on suspicion and could provide further information only after investigations.
