GTA Online players criticize Rockstar for membership in GTA+

by time news

Rockstar Games is not living its best days without a doubt. The company that used to be at the top thanks to the amazing experiences and games it provided is experiencing unfamiliar turmoil in the recent period, all related to the GTA series of games, whether the improved trilogy that did not live up to expectations, or the remastered version of GTA 5 for the new generation and finally the paid subscription service GTA+ that has caused countless criticism.

Rockstar Games’ statement regarding the new service reads:

Being a GTA+ member gives you a recurring monthly GTA direct deposit of $500,000 into your Maze Bank account, as well as the opportunity to acquire properties in and around Los Santos that unlock game updates you may have missed, special vehicle upgrades, member-only discounts, and bonuses that include currency Virtual game and PR points every month.

After the new service was announced, criticism spread on various social media sites, with some players suggesting that GTA+ is an attempt to counter the dwindling sales of Shark Cash cards, while others pointed out that the monthly deposit is too low to consider paying $6 a month at the time. You can get the rest of the membership rewards easily through continuous playing.

Other players criticized the concept of paid subscriptions in video games in general, especially since users are forced to pay for using group services on Xbox and PlayStation, and therefore the presence of paid subscriptions in the multiplayer games themselves will negatively affect the experience as a whole and limit its spread.

Let us know what you think in the comments section below, is Rockstar Games taking advantage of the success of GTA Online? Or is that a natural step in light of the game’s broad mass?

I always look for a good story, perfect scenario, and exciting plot in any video game, and I don’t mind playing competitive games with innovative and exciting ideas.
