A 17-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her mother in Thoothukudi district after she was reprimanded for refraining from talking on her cell phone for too long.
Madasamy is from Thoothukudi Melasanmugapuram. His wife is Muniyalakshmi. He is currently working as a temporary cleaner at a government hospital. They have three daughters and a son.
Muniyalakshmi is living alone with her two daughters and son due to a family problem with her husband Madasamy. Muniyalakshmi’s 17 – year – old daughter has completed polytechnic and is working in a private company.
He has befriended Thangakumar from Thoothukudi Muthiahpuram area and Kannan from Mullakkadu area. Thus his daughter would talk to her friends through the cell phone. It is said that Muniyalakshmi condemned it many times.
Police say the enraged daughter, along with her male friends, stabbed mother Muniyalakshmi to death on Saturday night.
How caught by the police?
After Muniyalakshmi’s death, her daughter informed the police that she had been murdered by some mysterious persons in search of jewelery.
During the ensuing interrogation, the police became suspicious as Muniyalakshmi’s daughter responded back and forth inconsistently. He was taken to the police station for questioning.
Police say her daughter confessed to killing her mother along with her boyfriend in anger because her mother told her to avoid having sex with male friends at the time.
His friend Kannan was arrested and jailed by the police for allegedly helping to kill his daughter and Muniyalakshmi.
‘In search of change’
Thoothukudi District Superintendent of Police Balaji Saravanan told BBC Tamil that Muniyalakshmi’s daughter has been talking to some male friends who work with her for the past few days.
She has been talking on her cell phone with her boyfriend for a long time while she is at home. This was condemned by his mother Muniyalakshmi. However, Muniyalakshmi’s daughter kept talking on her cell phone with her male friends for several hours and Muniyalakshmi got angry and beat her daughter in a public place.
This has had a huge psychological impact on the woman. Based on that, the investigation has revealed that he killed his mother along with her male friends.
Awareness of ‘seeking change’ is being created in all women’s police stations and public places to prevent such incidents in the Thoothukudi district.
The main purpose of the awareness of looking for change is how a woman should and should not use her cell phones.
Most children under the age of 18 have been forced to use cell phones since the Corona period.
How children use cell phones. Parents need to look at whether they are using unwanted apps and whether there is a change in the child’s activities.
Likewise, children who use cell phones should not post photos and personal information on social networking sites such as Facebook, and should not be deceived into relying on strangers through social networking sites. Thoothukudi District Superintendent of Police Balaji Saravanan says children should live and set an example for this community.
