by time news

At the Jean-Jaurès school in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis), children and parents recently launched a petition to denounce the quality and quantity of the dishes served at lunchtime in the canteen. These would be insufficient since the town hall uses the service provider Sodexo to have the food delivered which is then cooked by the municipal agents, reports The Parisian.

Food “at the limit of inedible”

Many parents from other schools in the commune also reported several quality shortcomings, with some people going so far as to say that the food was “bordering on inedible”. Asked about the issue, the municipality recognized “dysfunctions”, the mayor (PS) Tony Di Martino declaring that he had observed the problems mentioned during surprise visits to schools.

He explained that the service had experienced “small staff problems” and that a new manager of the central kitchen had just been appointed. For its part, Sodexo assured to have respected the specifications of the city. After an exchange with the municipality, certain recipes and their weights have nevertheless been readjusted.
