LOS ANGELES: The 94th Academy Awards kicked off yesterday morning at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA, hosted by Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hall. This is the first time that three women have hosted an Oscar ceremony. The Hollywood film ‘Koda’ was selected as the best film. The film is a comedy drama story. The film is a remake of the French film ‘Family Belier’ released in 2014. Will Smith was nominated for Best Actor for ‘King Richard’. Jessica Chastain won the Best Actress award. He received the award for the film ‘The Eyes of Tommy Fey’. Female director Jane Campion won the Best Director award for ‘The Power of the Dog’.
Troy Kotsur won Best Supporting Actor for ‘Koda’ and Haryana Deboss won Best Supporting Actress for ‘West Side Story’. Troy Kotzur is a deaf actor. The American film ‘Tune’, directed by Denise Villan, won the Oscars in 6 categories: Best Visual Effects, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Background Music, Best Cinematography and Best Sound. Earlier in the day, it was reported that Ukrainian President Zhelensky would appear on video at the event.
